Create scrapbook rooms that are easy to work in.

Having everything at your fingertips is essential for successful scrapbook rooms. Great scrapbookers have their die cuts and punches visible through a clear, plastic bin and stickers are fully assessible in a paper sticker binder. Next you want to have the decorative papers at your fingertips, in your scrapbook rooms or area with a multiple-shelf paper rack designed for the home user. Although you think you may not have the time, space, or money to create your ultimate scrapbook rooms, you can take one small step at a time.

First things first; there are some essentials that will make a big difference in your scrapbook rooms. Before anything else, you should consider including the following:

  1. A good chair. You'll spend hours sitting, so be sure to select a comfortable chair that'll support your back. Do not scrimp on this element, or your back may give out before your creative juices do!
  2. Good lighting. Natural light is best if it's available; however, keep in mind that direct sunlight can damage your paper and supplies. Swing-arm type fixtures provide greater flexibility by letting you put the light right where you need it.
  3. Bulletin boards. While not absolutely essential, bulletin boards really help in staying organized. The bulletin boards have holes so pins can be used, but you can also use magnetic gadgets from a home improvement store to hang items without hurting them with pin holes.
  4. Magnetic hooks from a kitchen department are great for hanging rulers, while magnetic cups from the bathroom section are handy for pencils and quick-grab supplies. Giant magnetic clips from your local office supply store can hold your scrapbooking magazines and idea books open so you can refer to them while scrapbooking.
